Well-capitalized start-up seeks extremely talented Data Scientist to help pioneer the development of remote sensing data science technology. You should have a propensity for understanding complex datasets and sources with an ability to extract and distill the data into actionable intelligence. You should have knowledge of machine learning libraries like Scikit-Learn, Keras, PyTorch or Tensorflow. You should be someone who is passionate about their career and wants to join a small and dedicated team of highly motivated developers and analysts. You should have a career history of exceeding expectations and coming up with novel ways to solve difficult problems.
Responsibilities
Work on a variety of data-intensive problems using diverse data sets –including combinations of images, tabular data, time series and more specialized remote-sensing datasets like SAR and/or stereo imagery.
Work independently or in a team, be ready to share ideas, collaborate and learn.
Understand the fundamentals of oil and gas production and trading.
Build and maintain data engineering pipelines, SQL databases, machine learning models, unit tests, code documentation and GCP-hosted client-facing services and API endpoints.
Communicate machine learning model results to team members and clients in clear, concise and quantitative terms.
Preferred Skills
Advanced knowledge of Python, Pandas and SQL
Proficient in working with GCP tools and services
Experience in data cleaning, model building and maintenance
OOP (Object Oriented Programming)
Experienced with geospatial data in Python, familiarity with GeoPandas
Proficiency with Git/Github or other distributed version control systems
Statistics fundamentals for analyzing uncertainty
Proficiency in Scikit-Learn, Keras, Pytorch or Tensorflow – preferably Scikit-Learn + PyTorch
