Bill Perkins is an American hedge fund manager, film producer, author, and high-stakes poker player known as the “Natural Gas King” and “Cowboy of Wall Street.” As the CIO of Skylar Capital, Perkins leads an energy trading hedge fund. His expertise lies in natural gas markets, where he uses innovative options strategies and market insights gained over more than two decades in the industry.
Beyond finance, Perkins is an entrepreneur and founder of several ventures, including SynMax, a cutting-edge satellite data analytics company. SynMax provides critical intelligence on energy and maritime operations, with products like Hyperion, which monitors U.S. frac activity in real time, and Theia, an AI-powered maritime monitoring tool that identifies vessel movements and detects “dark ships.”
In 2020, Perkins authored "Die with Zero", a book encouraging readers to focus on experiences and personal goals, offering a unique approach to wealth and life. He is also deeply committed to philanthropy, with a focus on adoption and foster care, supporting organizations like DePelchin Children's Center and the Dave Thomas Foundation.
